I have gained a lot fom this program but not sure I could say I fully understood all that I did! Still I have more insight now than I did before I started.

VC Podcast
I have watched the VC's podcast. I think it gives a more human touch to a speech than just an email or a post
YouTube University of Florida
Interesting to see how Uni Libraries are utilising YouTube

PetWiki
I managed to post a photo on the VU Library pet wiki. It is good to see what types of animals people choose for pets- I think really it is the pet who chooses the person
Library 2.0
Library 2.0 is a way of allowing our students to provide tags and sharing their experiences with other students/staff- sort of like the post it notes or highlighters of an earlier gen.
(I was always good- I used to underline in pencil and then erase it- I guess that's why I ended up a Library Nerd!)

Delicious
How come I think of food when I write this?
Seriously, using Delicious allowed me to find easily some interesting social sites on Gymnastics.
I can see this would be useful to allow easy interaction

Google Books/Google Scholar
Useful tools to find books and scholarly articles and screening out of lots of Google guff!
Google Docs 13
In this techno world the lack of function capability in Google Docs makes it somewhat limited in application. Howeve not having to purchase Microsoft Office must be very tempting for the home user
Google Maps
The map of my house is a little old- there is no roof on the garage which was completed in February.
It's a bit scary that satellites can look at your home and you don't even know!

I reactivated my Facebook account, decided I didn't want to continue and deactivated myself!
Subscribe to Blogs
I have managed to suscribe to RSS feed for Innovative Libraries.
As is always the case I was intending only to capture AIUG libraries , but I was too inexact with my Technorati search

To be or not to be- " A Library Nerd "
Do you:
- Smile politely when told " So, you read books all day ?"
- Bite your tongue when asked " Don't you get tired of stamping books?"
- Wince when asked "Where is your twinset, pearls and a bun?"
- Despair when asked to demonstrate the library sshhh!"
but then:
- respond like a detective to locate that" big red book about chemistry that used to live on that shelf..."
- appreciate that heartfelt thankyou when you have managed to track down that elusive citation
- feel that what you do contributes, if only in a small way, to someone's education
then join the world of the Library Nerd
